Membership
Red Dragon Divers (RDD) has around 28 members, from all walks of life. It is open to people from Pembrokeshire and further afield. Its members are a mix of men and women, young and old. You have to be at least 18 years of age to dive with RDD and there is no upper age limit. We are only able to accept divers under the age of 18 if a dive-qualified parent or responsible adult is able to buddy them on dives. At present our youngest member is 16 and the oldest are in their early sixties.
The main requirements for novice divers are enthusiasm, commitment to the training programme and a willingness to learn. You also need to be reasonably fit and will have to complete a medical declaration to show that you are fit for the sport of scuba diving. It costs £70 a year to be a member of Red Dragon Divers and all club members also have to join BSAC. BSAC subscriptions vary according to the member's age, qualifications and whether another member of the family is also a member. From 1st March 2011, the maximum annual cost of joining BSAC as a branch member is £52.00. For more information about BSAC visit www.bsac.org.
Trained diver from another agency? Red Dragon Divers welcomes qualified divers from other recognised dive training organisations and can provide cross-over certification, further training and skills development courses to those who join our club. For membership enquiries, email the membership officer Vernis Brooks at Red_Dragon_Divers@yahoo.com
Red Dragon Divers operates a one year probationary period for all new members.
